Shabbat at home

Below you find recordings of texts in the ‘LJG Bensjboekje’, according to the Dutch tradition:

  • Kiddush on Friday evening and Shabbat morning
  • Birkat hamazon – benshing (Grace after meals)
  • Shabbat zemirot
  • Havdala

The recordings are sung by rabbi Reuven Bar-Ephraim, except for Kiddush on Friday evening and Shabbat morning are sung by Chaim van Unen, Bendigamos by Jo van Beusekom and havdala by Eli Schleifer.

There is often more than one melody in use for any text; in most congregations melodies are used interchangeably, and customs also vary.

The name of the file begins with the page number(s) on which the text appears in the ‘Bensjboekje’.
