Our Courses of Study

The Cantorial Study

In the period 2007-2009 the Institute provided a course of study for 15 shelichay tzibbur (knowledgeable leaders of synagogue services). The course was led by prof. Eliyahu Schleifer (Hebrew Union College Jerusalem).

The Music Library contains sheet music and recordings of Dutch-Jewish synagogue music in the liberal-Jewish tradition. Many live recordings of lectures and workshops given during the training can also be found there, together with instructions for reading from the Torah, the haftara and Megillat Esther. In a PowerPoint presentation all the correct nusachim for every synagogue service on every day of the year are clearly set out.
